Metin Bonfil
Founder and Managing Director at Total Finans
Born in Istanbul, Metin is a graduate of Vassar College, New York, with degrees in Economics and Mathematics. He started his career in finance as a credit officer in Manufacturers Hanover Trust Co. in 1984. During 1987-1994 he worked as Assistant General Manager in Tekstil Bank of Turkey, responsible for credit and marketing functions. During 1994-95, he was a partner and the Managing Director of a securities brokerage firm; he then moved to found Total Finans in 1996. The company is one of the few independent advisory firms focussing on cross border mergers and acquisitions and capital raising activitiy in the Turkish market and is the exclusive Turkish partner of Global M&A Partners. As a member of TUSIAD, Metin has contributed articles to the quarterly Private View magazine and has held Board membership positions in various industrial companies including Bilim Ilaç, Organik Holding and Erkunt Döküm.
Metin is also actively involved in various non-profit organisations and foundations and writes for the weekly Salom newspaper.
Metin is married with two children and speaks English & French and some Italian.
